YOGYAKARTA – Bank Jateng Syariah established a partnership with Muhammadiyah Baitut Tamut Center (BTM) Central Java as outlined in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sharia Banking Facilities, at the national workshop of Muhammadiyah Microfinance Movement (GMM). The signing was carried out by the BTM of Central Java Chairman, Akhmad Sakhowi with the Director of Retail Business and Sharia Business Unit of Bank Jateng, Hanawijaya at Tara Hotel Yogyakarta, (20/02).
Director of Retail and Sharia Business Unit of Bank Jateng , Hanawijaya explained that the relationship between Bank Jateng Syariah and BTM has long been established, consequently by this MoU is expected the partnership will be better mutually beneficial consolidated according to sharia principles. “We hope by signing of this MoU will be the starting point for other collaborations and in order to improve business development synergy for both parties”.
BTM of Central Java Chairman, Akhmad Sahowi, said the synergy with Islamic financial institutions (LKS) such as Bank Jateng Syariah is very strategic. Considering the role and function of BTM Center of Central Java as the APEX Sharia which covers all the needs and services to its members consisting of BTM Center in the various regions of Central Java. In addition, in this partnership as evidence, between Islamic microfinance institutions (LKMS) and Islamic banking to mutually synergize and strengthen the development of Islamic economics. “That is one of the reasons why the partnership was built,” explained Sakhowi.
In addition to building a strategic partnership, furthermore, the Head of BTM Center of Central Java also explained more broadly, the partnership included meeting the needs of Islamic banking services at BTM Center of Central Java . Moreover, in the future the entire BTM network in Central Java will open services in Hajj financing plan for BTM members, of course Islamic banks such as Bank Jateng Syariah are needed as partners. Coupled with banking products owned by Bank Jateng can also be utilized for the development of BTM businesses which are growing rapidly.
