Bank Jateng Develops Sharia Banking in Brebes

BREBES – Bank Jateng continues to expand its service network, by developing Islamic banking in Brebes Regency on Saturday (11/1), officially the Sharia Sub-Branch Office of Bank Jateng, opened at Jalan Ahmad Yani, Brebes City. The inauguration was carried out by the Director of Retail and Sharia Business Unit of Bank Jateng, Hanawijaya together with the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Brebes Regency Government, Djoko Gunawan.

Director of Retail Business and Sharia Business Unit of Bank Jateng, Hanawijaya said the opening of Brebes Sharia Sub-Branch Office is a strategic effort, to continuously improve the services and benefits provided by Bank Jateng Syariah to its customers. “For this reason, we hope all elements of the community around Brebes Sharia Sub-Branch Office area can utilize services optimally,” he said.

According to him, the development of Islamic economics in Indonesia is quite encouraging, especially the Islamic finance. The total of sharia financial assets reached 8.29 percent of total Indonesian financial assets and were able to grow by 10.87 percent. The halal industry is a priority sector to be developed by the government through 2019 Sharia Finance National Committee (KNKS) master plan. Therefore, it invites Brebes people to play an active role in developing the Islamic economy through Bank Jateng Syariah. In the future, the development of Bank Jateng Syariah services will be carried out through the development of funding and financing products, as well as the other quality of banking services according to the customer needs. It was a manifestation of the seriousness of all its ranks to develop an Islamic economy and provide the excellent service.

“The opening of the Sharia Sub-Branch Office in Brebes, Bank Jateng Syariah currently has 193 office networks spread throughout Central Java and Yogyakarta. This office network consists of 5 Sharia Branch Offices, 14 Sharia Branch Offices, 10 Sharia Cash Offices, 4 Sharia Payment Points and 156 Sharia Services and 4 Sharia Mobile Cash Cars, “he said.

He further said, until the end of 2019, the performance of Bank Jateng Syariah showed the development of a business which is able to grow amid global economic pressures. Total assets owned have reached 72.14 trillion rupiahs or grew by 7.92 percent, from the end of 2018 of 66.85 trillion rupiahs. Whereas the third-party funds (DPK) successfully collected reached 49.30 trillion rupiahs or grew by 9.10 percent, from the previous year’s position of 45.19 trillion rupiahs. “For financing, we have channelled funds reaching up to 48.96 trillion rupiahs or growing by 6.66 percent, from the end of 2018 at 45.90 trillion rupiahs” he explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Brebes Regency Government, Djoko Gunawan said Brebes Regency Government gave a high appreciation of the efforts of Bank Jateng Syariah, by opening a sub-branch office in Brebes. Its existence will certainly facilitate the public in getting services. “This also further complements the existence of banks in Brebes; therefore, it will provide the convenience to the public,” he said.
